James is a Yorkshire-based director of photography, camera operator, and documentary filmmaker. He has over four years of experience as a combat camera operator in the Royal Air Force and more than a decade of international experience shooting in the US, North America, Europe and Asia.

James was mentored by an Oscar-winning BSC member on Netflix and BBC dramas through the ACO, BSC, and ScreenSkills mentorship programme.

A problem solver at heart, he thrives in negotiating a project's logistical, artistic, technical, and leadership elements. His happy place - having an eye pressed into the viewfinder, creating work that matters with people who care.
