Since leaving education I have assisted in the production of entertainment consistently in print, exhibition and television. I thrive upon working in production and enjoy the pressure to get things right for something important. I am currently just finishing work for BBC Flog It in which I worked as a permanent Runner. During this role I filmed in different locations each week, dealing with a high level of contributor interaction and a fast paced filming schedule. This job was very responsible and dynamic. For 'Valuation Days' - the main filming day for the production; the Runner would source and hire twelve stewards to organise the day. Often up to 800 members of the public would attend and it was my job to help the day run smoothly. I would help with research, finding stories and suitable candidates for filming. I would log the presenter's camera for later uploading of the rushes, and I would assist all five camera teams with crew needs. The crew was about forty people strong when on location and I feel the BBC's training of a Runner has given me the initiative to assist any type of shoot.
