I trained and worked as a hair stylist before joining BBC Birmingham. I have an Emmy Award for best Hair designer on ‘The Life and Death of Peter Sellers’ an RTS Award for best hair and make up design on the drama/ documentary ‘The Great Plague’ in addition I have two Oscar nominations as a make up and hair artist for the feature films ‘Shakespeare In love’ and ‘Mrs Brown’ Currently I have just finished designing my third series of ‘The Sister Boniface Mysteries’ set in the 1960s. I have a wealth of experience working with Wigs, hairpieces and make up for all ethnicities with a particular love for any period work. 2023 credits include ‘Here’ a period film directed by Bob Schemick starring Tom Hanks and Paul Bettany on I was the hair and make up artist looking after Paul Bettany. Other recent Designer credits include the feature film ‘Benediction‘ set in the 20’s, 30’s and 60’s. directed by the late Terence Davis starring Jack Lowden.‘The Colour Room ‘ directed by Claire McCarthy starring Phoebe Dynevor, also set in the 20s and 30s.
